Our program balances flexibility with a comprehensive learning experience. Some academic components may be completed alongside the practicum, while foundational courses are taken beforehand to ensure readiness. Academic advisors will help you build a personalized schedule that maximizes both learning and hands-on practice.
PMM TEP offers strong support in securing suitable practicum placements. With a network of approved Montessori schools across North Texas and beyond, our Practicum Coordinator will:
Guide you in identifying potential practicum sites.
Assist with resume and cover letter preparation.
Connect you with host schools and mentor teachers.
Provide ongoing supervision and support.
While we actively assist, students are also encouraged to explore opportunities independently to find the best fit.
We aim to provide timely admission decisions. You can typically expect notification within 2–3 weeks after your interview. Thank you for your patience as we carefully review each application.
The Practicum is a vital part of our Montessori teacher education program—a supervised, hands-on teaching experience in an approved Montessori classroom. Guided by an experienced mentor teacher, you’ll apply the knowledge and skills gained in your coursework as you observe, assist, and gradually lead the classroom. This immersive experience prepares you with the confidence and expertise needed for a successful Montessori career.
Our program is designed for flexibility while maintaining a comprehensive learning experience. In some cases, academic coursework may be completed concurrently with the practicum, while key courses are taken beforehand to build a strong foundation. Our academic advisors will work with you to create a personalized schedule that supports both your learning and practical training.
If your degree is from an international college or university, you will need to obtain an independent transcript evaluation to verify its equivalency to a U.S. bachelor’s degree. We recommend using a reputable credential evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Popular NACES members include:
World Education Services (WES)
Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. International Education Consultants
Please arrange for the official evaluation report to be sent directly to Pinnacle Montessori of Main at Coit Teacher Education Program.
We require letters of recommendation. These letters should ideally come from individuals who can speak to your academic abilities, professional aptitude, personal character, and your potential as a Montessori educator. Suitable recommenders include:
Former Professors or Instructors: Especially those who can comment on your academic performance and work ethic.
Previous Employers or Supervisors: Particularly if your work involved childcare, education, or leadership roles.
Individuals with significant knowledge of your character and commitment: Such as community leaders, mentors, or volunteer coordinators.
Please ensure your recommenders are not family members and can provide an objective assessment of your qualifications. They should be able to highlight qualities relevant to a career in education and your interest in Montessori philosophy.
